The City Council's Friday meeting, last Special Events waivers for the week.

This is today's listed agenda item for Special Events and waivers of fees for the third and final meeting of this week by City Council. The merit of each is not so much the issue but the listing here is to show where the money is going by the CMs choice. It IS an expense AND it's not mandatory one, making you wonder about how and why the decisions to spend limited city funds.

The other part of the expenses for church-operated festivals makes me wonder about the idea of separation of government and religion. Some of these are events are held by churchs, and presumably for the benefit of the sponsoring churches. That's what may be questionable, at least for the spending specifically on such events. That's another discussion for another day.

Most of the sponsoring CMs seem to have their matters bunched by days, so this series of postings is to show a wider spread among the CMs of their motions, giving all of them a chance to show up as sponsors on diferent days.
