This Friday is Homecoming for Lincoln High School with the Varsity game starting at 6 p.m. The JV game will begin at 2:30 p.m. The opponent this week will be Marshall High School. Halftime activities will be focused around the presentation of the Homecoming King and Queen and the Court.

The Homecoming Dance will be held in the Girls' Gym following the game. The Lincoln High Alumni Association will have the food concession operations going during the game with lots of tasty food.

NEW TELEPHONE NUMBER for LHS- Mr. Wadsworth has passed along the news that the school has a different number. It is now 323-441-4600. The old "CApitol" prefix that became just "22" will no longer identify the school with the geographic area of the Lincoln Heights neighborhood.

Monday, March 27, 2006-
Looking to updating website since you may have noticed that nothing new has been shown for a loooong time. There has been a lot that I have thought about writing but it has been on the back burner for a long time. Lots of things are in the news that relate directly to Lincoln High and some things that I just want to bring to the attention of some of you who may not know.

ALUMNI note: (From Mike Ibarra) Tuesday evening- March 28th, Varsity Baseball Fundraiser at Alhambra Shakey's Pizza, 6:30 to 9:30 pm, 2234 W. VALLEY BLVD., ALHAMBRA, CA
626-289-7851

One item is the alma mater. Despite the good intentions and efforts of many people, the school and the system are not like the alumni might remember. Observations and suggestions to follow.

BIG NEWS: One change that some readers might have noticed is that the GUESTBOOK sign-in and CURRENT comments are not working. This is more due to system problems than my exercise of editorial control. The GUESTBOOK page apparently dropped off the file server sometime in Dec. or Jan. Continue Reading-

Some good and bad about this- Good news: I have a back-up copy but only to Nov. 2005
Bad news- December and Jan. entries missing, but there were very very few additions.

I will have to restore the missing parts to get it going again. The backed up messages will be broken into archives to be more manageable. (I know it took a long time bring up even with DSL connections.) Since this is the most accessed part, it should be kept as a smaller sized segment.

One interesting observation- I may have been the only one who couldn't find the Guestbook since I did not get a single message about the problem from anyone else. (Reminder: E-mail is free to send)

(This is still not much of a change from the status quo since I did not get much feedback from any source about the lack of changes to the website with the exception of Bill K.)
