No Landslide for Tony; "No Debate" saves him from a worse fate.

The election is over, and what did we find in this "No Landslide" that Tony appeared to expect.

1. TONY's tally on city site now shows he's got 127,955 votes = 55.56% of the votes.

2. TONY'S cleared the 50% mark by 5.56% = about 12,504 votes.

3. TONY did not get EVEN 10 % of the Los Angeles 1,595,165 Registered Voters and he's still the mayor.

"WE" ALMOST DID IT... a run-off was just missed. And you know that now he's pissed that it was "barely" won. Not a good showing for one who hoped to demonstrate his strength for a run at Governor.

If vote count is complete, then
Measure B loses, BARELY.

And to all the challengers to the incumbents: not a bad showing for not being "serious" challengers, according to all the news reports. The political machine is showing some strain, thanks to a lot of voters who bothered to act.

Mayor Tony's strategy in his decision to reject debate invitations, at the risk of alienating some voters, compared to engaging in debate with a assortment of issues and problems that he was not going to be able to sweep under the carpet, avoided more exposure of truths that likely saved him from defeat. Such exposure of more of the Mayor's record and activities that were principally taken for the benefit to his career more than any good to the city and it's residents and workers, would have brought out more voters to choose a replacement for the Mayor.

TONY remains in office, but just barely. He still has his eye on the Governor's office, but that's gotten further from his grasp with such a poor showing by him in yesterday's election.
