Vote "NO" on this measure - notice that it's called a "half-cent" tax- That it intended to disguise the true description that it's another 1/2 "PERCENT" tax added to the current tax, of 8.25% in L.A., so that out of EVERY dollar you spend, a total of 8.75% sales tax is proposed, raising the tax from the existing 8.25% sales tax rate. A $10 sale will cost 87.5 cents (rounded off to 88 cents).

This is an extra .5% added to the sales tax- AND this will continue for 30 years. The temptation that lures you here is the possibilty, they call it a "goal", that all of the things that we hate about transit, especially traffic jams will be fixed.

THIS IS ANOTHER MONEY GRAB-

THIS is what they say will improve- NOT "CURE"- our transit problems. They really have no answer. We already have the highest taxes for a state and spending is never done in the best way. Special interests who help the politicians by contributing to their campaigns are the big winners when it comes time to hand out contracts.

You will also see that there is never enough money to get done what is promised. In this case, there is little that WILL be guaranteed to be done. That's because they know it's not the solution.

EVEN THEIR OWN COSTLY (PAID FOR BY MTA THAT IS TAX-DOLLAR SUPPORTED) glossy and lavishly illustrated brochure they mailed out to convince you says "goals"- that means what they WANT to do, and NOT what IS going to be accomplished. These are important details in how they put their propaganda together that really HIDE the truth from us.

The current economy makes this even more of a bad deal which makes this even a more disasterous deal.

DON'T let that happen and DON'T let the sales tax continue to climb by adding this for another 30 YEARS!
