Merlin Olson, ex-Ram, broadcaster and actor has died.

If you remember the old version of the Rams NFL team when they were in Los Angeles, you might have some memories of the Rams particular players back from the 60s and on, and one star was Merlin Olsen. Olsen was diagnosed with cancer, mesothelioma, in 2009 and died at City of Hope in Duarte on Thursday at the age of 69. “Hall of Fame football star, broadcaster and actor Merlin Olsen dies at 69.” By Keith Thursby, March 11, 2010 9:56 a.m. L.A. Merlin Olsen was also a broadcaster doing sports on television for NBC, and he was a co-star to Michael Landon in “Little House on the Prairie,” and later starred in “Father Murphy.”

Olsen played with the L.A. Rams during their time in Los Angeles, and was part of the very effective “Fearsome Foursome” defensive line along with teammates Deacon Jones, Rosey Grier and Lamar Lundy.
