December, And there's the Highland Park Parade

Well, it looks like there was the long-standing 2008 Highland Park Christmas Parade that was really a hard one to find on the Internet. Lots of old stuff found for the past parades, but the 2008 Parade will be tomorrow, Sunday, at 1 PM, travelling south on Figueroa St., from Avenue 60 to Avenue 50 (or Sycamore Grove Park, nearly the same area).

This parade is much older than the Lincoln Heights parade (happening next week, Sunday at 11 a.m.) and so it has more variety and numbers of entries. I don't know what high schools have as entries but where there are parades, there are bands, drill teams, civic groups, clubs, horses, beauty pageant winners and so on.

Your access is very good from numerous driving directions- AND the Gold Line rail service that runs between Union Station and Pasadena, passes a block behind and along Figueroa St. with a "Highland Park" stop that gets you right there in the main part of the business district.

The weather looks to be very good for tomorrow. Visit if you can.
